Prof. Karamjeet Singh Appointed Vice-Chancellor of GNDU

The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, on the recommendation of the state government, has appointed Prof. Karamjeet Singh as the Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar. Prof. Singh will serve a three-year term, bringing his vast academic and administrative expertise to the prestigious institution.

An alumnus of GNDU, Prof. Karamjeet Singh boasts a distinguished career spanning 38 years in teaching, research, training, and consultancy. Before this appointment, he was the founding Vice-Chancellor of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala.

At Panjab University, Chandigarh, Prof. Singh served as a Professor of Finance and Strategic Management, Registrar, and Dean of multiple faculties. He has also been actively involved in key decision-making bodies like the Senate and Syndicate.

Prof. Singh’s academic contributions include 50 research papers in renowned journals, mentoring 20 Ph.D. scholars, and authoring five books on Sikh Philosophy. His expertise extends to Corporate Governance, Strategic Management, and integrating Spirituality in Management.

Recognized for his leadership, Prof. Singh has received numerous accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award for Management and Leadership. He has represented Indian academia on global platforms, engaging with institutions like Wharton Business School, the University of London, and universities in Canada.

As Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Singh aims to elevate GNDU’s global stature by promoting vernacular languages, internationalizing education, introducing skill-based courses, and integrating the Indian Knowledge System, aligning with Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings.

This appointment marks a transformative chapter for GNDU, with Prof. Singh's leadership poised to inspire academic excellence and holistic development.
